Ju Ming (朱銘) is a Taiwanese sculptor who attained fame in Taiwan in the 1970s, and in New York in 1983. He developed his skill and applied it to a range of media, including bronze, styrofoam, ceramics, and stainless steel. Ju Ming's Taichi Series works, made in Ju Ming's middle age, are his famous works. Taichi seemed to fit perfectly with Ju Ming's temperament, his respect for nature, his treatment of wood in allowing it to speak for itself. A respect for the existing structures of nature is also inherent in the spirit of Taichi.
