Meinong Folk Village (美濃客家村) is a village of predominantly Hakka population in Kaohsiung. The area has grown tobacco since 1630 and is renowned nationwide for its oil paper umbrellas which were primarily exported to Japan. Meinong is a central focus of Hakka cultural development, and was named as one of the "Top 10 Small Tourist Towns" by the Tourism Bureau.
