The Hualien-Taitung Valley (花東縱谷), also known as East Rift Valley, is a long and narrow valley stretching from the eastern coast of Taiwan, passing through Hualien in the north to Taitung in the south. Often described as "a land of milk honey", the scenery along the valley encompasses mountains, valleys, hot springs, rice fields, daylilies, pomelos trees, tea fields, and sugar apples trees.
